Most of us\nare interested in moving towards an off the grid lifestyle, but one\nthing that’s commonly overlooked is all the recreational\nopportunities that are available on rural land. There are a lot of\nthings we can do with rural that we are living on, that we have our\nvacation cabin on, that we’re hunting on, or that we are just using\nfor campaign and other purposes. \n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eWhat are some of the\nthings we can do for recreation?\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003ePurely recreation and\ncommunity building are a whole lot. Here are some things that you may\nhave thought of, but maybe you haven’t thought of, one nice idea; a\ntrail. Most of the acres is owned by home standards is quite large,\nyou know, definitely over an acre.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eMost people are looking\nat five to ten acres or larger lots. In subdivisions that are\nbeautiful that have different scenic areas, you could put a trail on\nthe perimeter of your property that connects maybe to scenic spots or\nroad or you could work with other neighbours and do some sort of\nconnective trail throughout the subdivision having some of the trail\non your lot, some on the roads that go through the sub and some on\nother people’s lots, who knows, maybe just do it on your own for\nyourself and you don’t share it with your neighbours and you make\nyour own private trail, just for exercise and roaming around. \n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eThere’s a nice idea for\nimproving your lot that doesn’t take a lot and it’s a community\nbuilding effort also that can help you meet your neighbours, or you\ncan make an outdoor shooting range those of you are into skeet\nshooting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eYou could build a nice\ntree house, that’s kind of fun. Not a place to live, but kind of a\nfun thing to hang out in when you’re visiting the lawn, maybe your\ncamping maybe the kids playing a type of thing, that’s fun.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eHiking and cross country\nskiing trails; those are a little bit different than the trails that\nI mentioned in the beginning of the presentation and those trails are\nmeant to get people somewhere. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eThese trails are meant\njust for exercise, like skiing. Right? Hiking on your lot, right? So,\ndesign the lot if you get snow during the winter. A little bit of\nelevation changed from mostly flat for cross country, skiing and\ncetera. So, a couple of different considerations when designing a\ncross country skiing trail.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eWhat else can you do\nrecreationally? You can put a bowl on; you might have a waterfront,\nyou might have a lake or a river, and you can build your own boat\nlounge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eYou could use it as a\nspiritual sanctuary and build nothing, \u003ci\u003eright?\u003c\/i\u003e \n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eWhat else can you do\nrecreationally?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eRight. Some people plan\nto venue, not a commercial venue, but just for fun, you know, just\nfor fun as an alternative to gardening project, right?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eWhat else would be fun\nfor you?\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eOh, walking trails we\ndiscussed before, but some subdivisions even go as far as to paving\nportions of a walking trail, turning it into a biking trail. So you\ncan upgrade all the way to a biking trail with you, and your\nneighbours if you guys want to do some biking around the subdivision\nand nice idea. It really adds value too.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eOutdoor photography\nstudio.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eWhat else? I’m just\nscanning, I have a long list and I’m skipping most of them, of\ncourse, you know, to park your RV, your trailer. If you’re not\ngoing to build, you may want to bring your trailer out there, your\nRV.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eProbably a couple more.\nLet’s see what else we can come up with here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eEducation, I mean,\neducation is a nice one. You know, if you know off the grid living,\nyou can bring people out here on the lot and teach it. I mean, your\nfriends and family, right? And you could make a, you could even\ndonate some time to a local boy scout troop or girl scout troop and\nteach off the grid living skills for a few hours on your lot. Very\nvaluable for you and the people you teach.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eAnd then, of course,\nbasic recreation like four wheel driving, snowmobiling, dirt biking,\nmountain, biking, paintball tournaments; I mean, if you’ve got five\nmore acres, you can do all that. Right? \n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eA lot of the more obvious\noff the grid recreational opportunities revolve around, you know,\nfour wheeling and snowmobiling, dirt biking and that kind of stuff.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp align=\"JUSTIFY\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"\u003eAnd, tiny houses are fun\nbut that gets more into actually developing and building the lot\nwhich is the subject of other presentations.\u003c\/p\u003e","products":[],"url":"https:\/\/store.onlinelandsales.com\/collections\/off-the-grid-recreation.oembed","provider":"Onlinelandsales","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
